HDCP
As our society and the world itself moves from a less physical to a more virtual existence we need to do things to protect what is in our virtual ether. It should be no surprise that there is such a thing as high-bandwidth Digital content protection or HD CP in our world today. This was a Digital rights management which was developed to control audio and video as it travels across both DVI and HDM I connections. Founded and supported initially by Intel, this is a thing which many other people will start to adopt as we realize the importance of proprietary rights and other things of that nature.
Though this sounds good idea on paper there was a test in 2001 where some persons concluded that HD CP was not really a great idea after all. HD CP has a number of fundamental weaknesses among which is the ability for eavesdropping, cloning, blacklisting, duplication, and the basic up ending of any digital rights to privacy that HD CP persons thought they had.
