Intel Viiv, AMD Live

Sometimes the most exciting things can happen in the electronics and entertainment industry when people aren’t even really paying attention. It was thus when AMD Live announced their direct competition with Intel Viiv as they’ve both postured to become the center of electronics based home entertainment with their platforms. Intel came along first and then AMD Live went straight up to them in an attempted coups. But which one is the best? How are their platforms different or similar? Offers a competing set of desktop platforms which include dual core Athlon AMD processors, DVD+/-RW disc drive, graphics card, VGA, DVI, HDMI display output, wireless keyboard, TV tuner, Ethernet connection, wireless networking abilities and the support for Blu-ray and HD DVD upcoming.

There is plenty to say about these two competing software packages online and there are plenty of disparate opinions.
